Fixed-Route Bus Service and Parking Enforcement Resumes June 1

The City of Helena will resume service on Capital Transit's Red and Blue fixed-route buses, as well as revert to full parking enforcement in the downtown district on Monday, June 1. Both changes in service coincide with the Governor's lifting of Phase 1 COVID-19 restrictions. Transit Information:

The Red and Blue fixed-route and Paratransit buses will operate with a limited capacity Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-11 a.m. and 1-6 p.m. In the two-hour shutdown midday, the buses will be thoroughly cleaned to help minimize potential exposure to COVID-19. Paratransit reoccurring/subscription ride scheduling will not be available until Phase 3 of the State Recover plan (Date: TBD). The East Valley/East Helena bus route will remain suspended until further notice.

To safeguard the public and staff, patrons of the transit system are asked to adhear to the following safety measures:

  • Face coverings should be worn on all buses. 
  • To maintain social distancing, the buses will run at a limited capacity. 
    • Fixed Route Buses: No more than 4 passengers will be allowed on board at any time.
    • ADA Paratransit Buses: No more than 2 passengers will be allowed onboard at any time.

Parking Information:

City will resume full parking enforcement in the downtown area. First hour free parking is still available in several locations, as noted in green on the parking map.
