The City of Helena Commissioners recently created the Downtown Urban Renewal Area Tax Increment Financing Advisory Board. As a new board, it needs members and if you have a vested interest in downtown, you should apply! The deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 29 at 4:00 p.m.
The City of Helena has the following board openings for the Downtown Urban Renewal Area Tax Increment Financing Advisory Board. The vacancies on the Board include:
One (1) representative of a business within the Downtown Urban Renewal Area;
One (1) owner of property located within the Downtown Urban Renewal Area, or the property owner’s representative;
One (1) resident who resides within the Downtown Urban Renewal Area, but is not a property owner within the Downtown Urban Renewal Area;
One (1) member of the Helena Business Improvement District Board;
One (1) representative of Lewis and Clark County;
One (1) representative of the Montana Business Assistance Connection;
One (1) representative of a not-for-profit organization;
Two (2) business or property owners, or their representatives, or residents, located in the Rodney Street Study Area; One (1) real estate or property development professional with professional experience within the boundaries of the Downtown Urban
One (1) representative of Helena School District No.1;
One (1) representative of an art, music, or other cultural organization located within the boundaries of the Downtown Urban Renewal District;
One (1) member of a historic preservation organization; and
One (1) member of an organization with a focus on housing.
This Downtown Urban Renewal Area Tax Increment Financing Advisory Board serves only in advisory capacity to the City Commission. The Advisory Board will provide advice only with respect to the following topics related to the Downtown Urban Renewal Area: a) annual work-plans, reports, evaluations, and budgets; b) allocation of TIF funds for projects; and c) amendments to the Downtown Urban Renewal District
