The City of Helena recently received the results of two clean financial audits for Fiscal Year 2021. Working with the accounting firm JCCS, the City completed a Financial Audit as well as a Federal Single Audit.
The auditors expressed their opinion that the FY2021 Financial Statements, in all material respects, were presented fairly and in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States. JCCS also provided an opinion that the City of Helena, in all material respects, were in compliance with uniform guidance requirements of Major Federal Programs audited.
The City is required by State law to complete a financial report after each fiscal year and have a Federal Single Audit if an excess of $750,000 was spent using Federal Grant Funds.
An update on the audits was presented to the City Commission at its regular meeting on June 27, 2022. A copy of the FY21 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, along with previous reports, can be found by visiting https://helenamt.gov/government/departments/finance/accounting-finance.
