HELENA, Mont. – The City of Helena Parking Division has launched a new fine forgiveness program aimed at supporting Helena families during the holidays. On Thursday, Nov. 16, the Parking team announced a Fines to Food Drive initiative, which allows people to donate a basket of food in exchange for $10 or $25 worth of parking fines. Food baskets of non-perishable dinner sides can be dropped at the Parking Office (225 N. Cruse Ave.) through Dec. 14.

The Parking team has created two examples of food baskets that qualify for the program. All the food that is collected will be donated to the Helena Food Bank for distribution.

  • Food can be substituted but the general intent of the item being substituted must be met. The quantity and size must be equal or greater to the proposed item.
  • Multiple donations will be accepted.
  • All “Food Basket” drop offs should be made to Helena Parking at 225 N. Cruse Ave, Helena, MT 59601.
