Helena, Mont. – The City of Helena, in partnership with Sanderson Stewart, will host a public meeting to discuss the conceptual design and feasibility of the intersection changes at the Last Chance Gulch (LCG) Five Points intersection. The intersection, located near downtown, connects Last Chance Gulch/Helena Avenue/Neill Avenue/Cruse Street, Last Chance Gulch/11th Avenue and 11th Avenue/Cruse Street. Event details are below:

Open House
March 26
4 - 7 p.m.
Helena Civic Center
340 Neill Ave. Helena, MT

Project team members will be in attendance to provide project status updates and answer questions. The community is invited to stop by anytime between 4-7 p.m. Two formal presentations will be made promptly at 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Presentations will last 20 minutes, followed by a question-and-answer session. For those who are unable to attend the open house, a video presentation of the information will be made available on the project webpage, https://beheardhelena.com/last-chance-gulch-five-points-intersection.

The LCG Five Points intersection has been extensively studied and included in transportation and land use documents since 2004. In 2021, a multimodal traffic study was conducted which resulted in the recommendation of a five-legged single-lane roundabout at the LCG Five points intersection and modifying the intersection at 11th Avenue/Cruse Avenue.

This LCG Five Points Intersection project looks to examine the opportunities and constraints of the intersection. This includes studying traffic patterns, surveying the area, looking at stormwater issues, and talking with the community about the impacts and benefits of the intersection design options.
