City Burning Slash Piles on March 4-6

HELENA, Mont. – The City of Helena Open Lands division will burn slash piles on Mount Helena and Mount Ascension this week (March 4-6) thanks to favorable weather conditions. The burning on Mount Helena will occur Monday (March 4) and focus on the trees killed in the 2022 wildfire. On Mount Ascension, burning will take place Tuesday and Wednesday (March 5-6) adjacent to the Aftershock Trail.

All prescribed burning activities are weather dependent and subject to change.
