Changes Coming to Transit Fares
Published on September 06, 2023
HELENA, Mont. – The City of Helena’s public transit system is increasing its fares, effective Oct. 2, 2023. This marks the first fare increase for Capital Transit since 1979. The rate for a one-way ride on a Capital Transit bus has cost just $0.85 for over 40 years.
The new fare structure incentivizes pre-scheduled rides, which can be done a day in advance. It also includes discounts for students, veterans, disabled and elderly (60 years +).
