HELENA, Mont. – The City of Helena seeks to commission original designs to paint up to five dumpsters, seeking a different design and artist for each. Proposals will be accepted until January 19, 2024 at 4 p.m. The full request for proposals can be found at www.helenamt.gov/proposals/.

Designs are open to each artist's vision, but the color and design should be visually effective from a distance. Selected Artists and/or Teams will be paid Eight Hundred Dollars ($800.00) per dumpster. The artist must supply their own paint and supplies; however, the City of Helena will provide the supplies and volunteers to prime and seal each dumpster.

Dumpsters will be selected from City properties that have prominent locations for public view.

The City and the Helena Public Art Committee will host a painting event in the parking lot of the City-County Administration Building on either May 4 or May 11, where all dumpsters will be set up and artists will paint their murals.
