City of Helena Update on Immigration Enforcement Resolution

On March 10, 2026, the City of Helena received a letter from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Montana outlining an opinion that the City’s recently adopted “Resolution No. 21062: A Resolution Memorializing City of Helena Policy When Federal Immigration Enforcement Actions Are Present Within City Limits,” violates state law.

Water Main Break - Lawrence St. and Madison Ave.

Due to a water main break at Lawrence St. and Madison Ave., water service may be temporarily shut off to residences along Lawrence St. from Harrison Ave. to Dearborn Ave. while repairs are completed.

6th Ave. Street Closure – Nov. 25-Dec. 15

The City Streets team will close 6th Ave. west of Lamborn St. on Monday, Nov. 25-Dec.15 to install valley gutter along the roadway. No through traffic is allowed.
